What full resolution means in nobg
nobg composites the alpha at the source width and height. A 4000×6000 phone photo exports at 4000×6000. remove.bg’s common free download is about 0.25 megapixels. That gap is the reason this page exists.
Marketplace zoom needs the pixels
Amazon wants the longest side at least 1000 px and prefers 1600 px or more for zoom. A preview PNG fails that before you even check #FFFFFF.
Print and mockups
Stickers, packaging comps, and large social crops fall apart if the cutout was downscaled at export. Keep the camera grid.
Memory is the only cap
Huge files can exhaust a phone tab. If a cut fails, try a slightly smaller export from the camera roll, still well above 0.25 MP.
Keep every pixel
Open the original file, not a screenshot of it.
Use the camera original
Prefer the HEIC or JPEG from the phone, not a compressed messenger copy.
Run the on-device model
The matte is computed at working resolution in a worker. UI stays on the main thread.
Download 32-bit PNG
Alpha is 8-bit per pixel on a 32-bit PNG. No JPEG flattening.
Inspect cutout edges
Slide the divider to compare the original photo with the cutout.

nobg vs remove.bg, Canva, and Adobe Express
A fair look at privacy, free export resolution, and whether you need an account. Cloud tools can still be the right choice if you want their editors or APIs.

Competitor details as of September 2026 from public plans: remove.bg free downloads are preview-resolution (~0.25 MP) with HD credits commonly about $0.13–$0.23 per image (for example ~$9 for 40 credits/month); Canva’s background remover is a Pro feature (about $13–15/month); Adobe Express can export full resolution on a free plan but requires an Adobe account and uploads the file. Plans change - check each vendor.
Choose nobg when the photo must stay on the device and you need unlimited full-resolution PNGs with no account. Choose a cloud suite when you already pay for Canva or Adobe and want their templates, APIs, or collaboration tools.
Frequently asked questions
Is the free download really original size?▼
Yes. nobg does not resize as a paywall. If the PNG is smaller, the source file was smaller.
Why do other tools cap free HD?▼
Cloud GPUs cost per image. nobg runs on your GPU or CPU, so there is nothing to meter.
Does PNG get huge?▼
Transparent PNG is larger than JPEG. That is expected. If you need a white-background JPEG for Amazon, stage #FFFFFF in studio and export, or flatten in another editor.
What is the 25 MB note?▼
A practical decode limit in this tab, not a commercial quota. Most phone photos are well under it.
